Ill update later today when i get some more time to either try and roll back to 5.3.1 or at least install the play store and the kiosk browser on the 5.3.2 version. The Appstore has far fewer apps and games than you can get on an iPad or from the Google Play Store. Then run the app and in about 10 minutes you should have root access. Amazon Fire tablets have a lot to offer, but there’s one big catch. Just search for it in the browser, download the APK and make sure you can install programs from unknown sources. I suppose if i can get that to work i dont really need to root it.Īlso, for what its worth, i also have a Gen 1 fire that i was working with and was able to root it really easily with KingRoot. I also found a guide to install google play store (and associated services) a couple of weeks ago, so ill dig that up so i can at least try Fully Kiosk on the 5.3.2 version. Id like to have one of my smarttiles pages running so it turns on the screen to that page when i walk into that room In short: your 50 Fire Tablet now acts much more like a real Android tablet. That means you get more control your home screen, add widgets, and even use custom icon themes. Ill play more with it tonight, but it seems to have trouble waking the screen consistently. This trick, thanks to an intrepid developer over at XDA Developers, gives you everything a custom launcher does on Android. Thanks for the suggestions! I installed Fully Kiosk browser to test it out (on the rooted one), but it seems a little buggy.
